Nomads who Sew! Part I

I recently joined a great little group on Facebook called Nomads who Sew! It is primarily folk living on the road with these wonderful hand-cranked or treadle sewing machines! Be sure to check it out!  It seems like it would be great to have to work on projects, and also to maybe earn a few extra dollars along the way, or trade labour for work on the van at gatherings, etc!

I found this!! A fully functional industrial-strength Singer treadle sewing machine that can also be hooked up to shore power!! This will sew through leather and thicker upholstery fabrics! I see great potential in this, as a little investment into my future :)

I am planning on building it into my van. My front seats swivel, so this will form a desk/work station that can also be opened up as my sewing center!
